Your duties at a glance As an employee working within the Child Welfare Program , you will have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregon's most vulnerable children and families.

As a Case Aide, you will:
Play a critical role in assisting Caseworkers in achieving positive outcomes for children and their families.
Support Caseworkers by completing paperwork, completing referrals, transporting children, engaging with parents and community partners, and completing administrative tasks.
Work with families and children in the community.
Community work will consist of transporting children and taking notes of observations.

What you need to qualify One year of experience assisting professionals in one or more specialized social programs such as family services, children services, senior services, mental or developmental disability services, substance abuse programs, juvenile corrections programs, or occupational skills programs, or Possession of a current certification in child development, early childhood education, addiction counseling preparation or juvenile corrections, or 45 quarter hours, or 30 semester hours of college course work in sociology, psychology, early childhood education, criminal justice, human services, juvenile corrections, or occupational skills training, or An associate degree in a field not closely related to social work/human services and six months of human services-related experience (e.
g.
, work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, mental or physical disabilities, juvenile prevention, health, cultural competencies, and/or inadequate housing).

Essential attributes We are looking for candidates with:
Ability to engage clients (children and families) and build a rapport with them and community partners.
Ability to provide various levels of supervision and support for children and families.
Skill to accurately document information, including correct spelling, grammar, and the ability to proofread your work.
Experience or ability to use and navigate technology such as different computer systems and the ability to type.
Advanced skill in organization, systems, ability to multi-task, schedule flexibility, and ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment.
Experience communicating clearly and precisely, specifically verbally, to a diverse group of people.

Working conditions Your work may be conducted in offices, participant's homes, and other community sites.
Occasional travel is required for the purpose of transporting children.
Employee's work will be conducted Monday through Friday 8-5, hours of work may fluctuate based on service needs.
Occasional, compensated overtime may be required, including evening and weekend work.
You may interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma and exhibit challenges in controlling their emotions.
Employee may need to lift to 40 lbs.
Placing children into car seats is most of the lifting.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
