Job Description :
Peterson Machinery has an immediate opening for a Parts Counter Person working at our Redmond location. Provide customer assistance to the service department by researching, pricing, locating, and delivery of parts The main essential duties and responsibilitiesinclude the following:
Receive and write parts orders from phone, fax, and counter customers.
Advise customers of order status, including items on back order.
Assist Parts/Service Sales Reps with furnishing leads, answering questions, etc.
Order parts from manufacturers or outside vendors by preparing purchase orders and other appropriate purchase documents.
Fill parts orders for shop and field technicians which may require determining the correct part and/or part numbers by using DBS and other information resources Order parts from manufacturers or outside vendors by preparing purchase orders and other appropriate purchase documents.
Process return parts from service department or customers issuing credit memos and restocking parts.
Keep service department informed on the status of any back ordered items Assist service department in preparing quotes by researching and pricing parts.
Operate lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to trucks, storage, or work areas.
Assist in other department activities as assigned by the supervisor.
May be required to work overtime, provide after-hours emergency parts service, or on-call duty, as needed.
Order parts literature and special orders for customers; maintain literature on parts or product changes and updates.
Other duties may be assigned.
Job Requirements :

High school diploma, or the equivalent, and two years of heavy equipment warehouse / counter sales experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be proficient on menu-driven mainframe systems, as well as, PC and windows-driven software; familiarity with MS Office products.
Understanding and knowledge of CAT and competitive model parts for heavy equipment machinery preferred.
Ability to read and write legibly and communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
Ability to safely operate lift truck and other warehouse tooling / equipment.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, and bending.
Possess valid driver''s license and clean driving record.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
