Job Description :
Peterson Machinery has an immediate opening for Tractor Trailer Driver in Redmond, Oregon store. Reporting to the Rental Service Coordinator under general supervision delivers and retrieves rental equipment at customer siteswith various delivery vehicles up to 98,000 lbs. G.V.W.R.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude but not limited to the following:
Maintain a safe working environment and observe all company and DOT safety procedures, laws, policies and rules, including maintaining an accurate Record of Duty Status log
Monitor, maintain and inspect assigned delivery vehicles in accordance with manufacturer, company, and DOT guidelines, includingdaily DOT vehicle operational safety inspections.
It is the driver's responsibility to insure that all required registrations, permits and inspections are current and valid.
Load and transport rental equipment in a safe and secure manner following DOT guidelines for secure and tie-down of equipment
Work overtime as needed within labor law and DOT guidelines
Follow all company safety rules and use of applicable PPE.
Promote positive company image by professional conduct, personal appearance, and truck appearance
Interact with internal and external customers in a positive and professional manner including listening, gaining understanding, and accurately passing to the appropriate person customer complaints and concerns
Deliver and retrieve equipment to and from customer sites
Inspect equipment for damage when picking up equipment from customers
Fuel rental equipment as required
Wash and maintain rental equipment as directed
Complete all rental and related documents in an accurate and timely manner
Work on an "on call" 24/7 basis as required for emergency equipment deliveries

Job Requirements :

Possess high school diploma or the equivalent and completion of certified truck driver training program, or three-to-five years experience hauling heavy and rental equipment.
Class "A" Commercial Driver's License with required endorsements and a current Medical Certificate;maintain an acceptable safety and driving record
Possess excellent customer service skills; ability to communicate professionally
Ability to interpret reports and other written and verbal information in order to carry out job duties and comply with safety and other regulations as they pertain to job
Apply concepts of basic math
Ability to deal with various situations and apply sound judgment in fast-paced environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands and fingers to grasp and to perform mechanical service activities. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment is outdoors with exposure to regional temperature and other weather variations. The employee will regularly work around moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to vibration, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
