Commercial Loan Officer II

SUMMARY
Serves a wide variety of business customers, offering both loan and deposit services. Produces income for the bank through loans, loan fees, deposits, cash management and other services. Would generally have individual loan volume of $20MM to $30MM in outstanding balances. This person is also expected to generate deposits, other fee income and understand a wide variety of bank products. Measures of success include: outstanding loans, new revenue generation, total deposits from commercial customers, number of relationships, credit quality, CRA efforts and community involvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.
Generate new business opportunities with existing customers and prospects.
Interview borrower and request specified information for loan applications.
Analyze credit worthiness of applicants by reviewing loan application, preparing financial statements, cash flow, and collateral analysis.
Establish and negotiate terms and conditions with borrower.
Approve and reject loans.
Prepare and present loan requests over lending limit to upper management or loan committee.
Ensure compliance to applicable regulations and keep current with changes in federal regulations and lending requirements.
Monitor loan repayment and take appropriate collections action.
Maintain and service existing accounts consistent with department objectives of profitability and credit quality.
Produce income for the bank through loans, loan fees, deposits, payments, cash management and other services.
Operate independently; market the banks services to energy and energy related companies.
SECONDARY DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES
May administer other types of loans.
Cross sell other bank products.
Perform community involvement activities.
Serve on loan committees.
Provide financial advice to customers and perform other customer service-related activities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university and three plus (3+) years' experience in commercial lending or commercial credit underwriting; exhibits advanced credit analysis and commercial underwriting skills, including accounting, financial statement and cash flow analysis experience; knowledge of commercial lending policies, procedures, practices and documentation; excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage customer relationships; proficiency with personal computers and related software packages such as Word and Excel; knowledge of the bank's risk-rating system, credit products and underwriting policies; working knowledge structuring credit products for small and medium size business in diverse industries; experience with asset-based lending, capital structure finance and trade finance.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and perform spreadsheet analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
